Nantucket Comedy Festival 2027
8–10 July 2027
The Nantucket Comedy Festival brings stand-up comedians to Nantucket each summer to raise money for Stand Up & Learn, the island's year-round comedy classes for children, and its 2027 edition runs from Thursday 8 to Saturday 10 July. Stand-up Kevin Flynn, its executive director, started it in 2007 with Bonnie Levison, and it runs as a nonprofit. In 2026 its shows filled NPAC and the Dreamland Theater, from a women's night and a Boston versus New York smackdown to a kids' showcase.

What's on
The 2026 festival opened at 3:15pm on Wednesday 8 July with the free Stand Up & Learn kids' show at the Dreamland Theater. NPAC held the Women's Night of Comedy at 7pm on Thursday 9 July and NCF Legends of Comedy at 6pm on Friday 10 July, after a 3pm screening of Townie, with questions and answers, at the Dreamland. Patrons had a private after-party at 9pm that Friday, and the Boston versus New York smackdown closed the run at the Dreamland at 7pm on Saturday 11 July.
The festival's video archive keeps sets from 2021 by Kerri Louise, Regina DeCicco, Sam Kroin and Sarah Tollemache, and from the Ladies Night and Southern Comfort spotlights of 2022.
Its story
Kevin Flynn began it in 2007 after a series of teen suicides shook the island, asking comedian friends to give a festival their time so that it could pay for comedy classes building young people's confidence; he and Bonnie Levison staged the first festival the following summer. Stand Up & Learn, its 501(c)(3) programme for ages 8 to 18, works through videos and worksheets on creative writing and public speaking, and has been taught at the Cape Cod Conservatory and, in New York City, at the Gateway School. Donations pay for scholarships so children take part free.
