Build your dream comedy festival
Your town, your favourite comedians, improvisers and sketch troupes, one bill. Pick the place, book up to 12 acts from the 4,288 the Guide knows by name, star your headliners, and save the poster. Then vote, and put your town on the map of where people want a festival.
- 4,288 acts to pick from
- 1,600 on real bills now
- 41 festivals they're playing
- 0 confirmed votes
Where's your festival?
Give your own town the main stage. Any town in the world counts.
How far you'd go for the real thing, so a festival announced near you can reach you, if you ask for that below.
Who's on your bill?
Pick 1 to 12 acts and star up to 3 headliners. Every name is a real comedian, improviser or troupe on the Guide's records; the ones with a festival ahead say where.
0 of 12 picked · headliners on real bills first
A name you add yourself goes on your poster, not in the vote: the vote counts the names on the Guide's records.

Make it a festival
One big night, or a week that takes over the town?
A wish list, not a booking. Nobody on a dream bill has agreed to anything, and the price is only what you'd pay, never an offer.
Cast your vote
Your vote counts once you confirm your address from the email Kit sends you. One address is one vote; vote again and your newest bill replaces the old one.
Your dreams, (somewhat) come true
None of your picks is on a real festival bill yet. These are, and soon: add one to your bill, then go and see them.

The votes so far
Only confirmed votes are counted, read again every morning. A town joins the list once three people vote for it.
Nobody's vote has been counted yet, so there's no leaderboard to show: the Guide never makes one up. Yours could be the first. Every morning the count is read again and this page shows it, totals only.
What happens to a vote
A dream bill is for fun, and for showing where people want comedy.
Why vote at all
Comedy festivals start where organisers can see an audience waiting. A town with a hundred people asking for the same weekend, and a list of who they want on stage, is a case anyone can make to a theatre, a council or a promoter. The Guide adds up the confirmed votes by town and by act and puts the totals on this page, so a town's case is there for anyone to see.
Nobody on a dream bill is booked, asked or promised anything. The Guide doesn't run festivals or sell tickets. When a real festival is announced near a town people voted for, the Guide's own pages carry it, and whoever asked for an alert hears about it.
How a vote is counted
Your vote goes to Kit with your town and your picks, and Kit emails you a link to confirm your address. Until you press it, the vote isn't counted. Each morning the Guide reads the confirmed votes, adds them up by town and by act, and rebuilds this page with the totals. Your address is never shown, never sold and never handed to an organiser.
One address is one vote. Vote again from the same address and the newest bill counts in place of the old one. A town appears on the list once three confirmed votes name it, so a typing slip or a joke entry stays off the page.
Is anyone on my dream bill really coming?
Not because of the vote. A dream bill is a wish. Where an act you pick is already on a real festival's bill, the builder says which one and when, with a link to its tickets on the festival's own site.
Why can't I find someone?
The builder lists the acts the Guide knows by name: every act on a festival bill it follows, every comedian in SUCDb and the improv and sketch acts in its own records. Add anyone else by name for your poster; the vote counts the names on the records.
Can I change my vote?
Yes. Build a new bill and vote from the same address. The newest one counts. To take your vote back, unsubscribe from the link at the foot of any email Kit sends you.
What does the poster say?
Your town, your festival's length and your line-up, headliners first, with "fan-made, not an announced event" across the foot. Share it anywhere: it makes no claim that anyone has agreed to play.
Who sees the totals?
Everyone: they are on this page. Only the totals, by town and by act. Organisers who want to know where to put a festival can read them here like anyone else.
Who's playing for real
The festivals with their bills announced, the names on them and the nights they play.
