The Altercation Comedy Festival takes over Kick Butt Coffee, at 5775 Airport Boulevard in Austin, Texas, for four nights from 4 to 7 November 2026, its 11th year, with doors at 6:30pm each evening. Brian Posehn tops the closing bill, Sam Miller and Val Vulpe play on 6 November, and between the comics come Monster Movie Mockery, Punk Rock Jeopardy, a found-footage VHS mixtape and Derek Sheen taping a new special.

Tickets are sold on the festival's own ticketing site, all general admission and non-refundable. A night costs $24.75 for 4 or 5 November, $31.14 for 6 November and $33.27 for 7 November, and a Full Fest Badge for every show $107.83, fees included; a reserved booth for every night, with three VIP badges, is $507.21. Tickets are collected at will call with ID, seating is unreserved, and ages 16 and over are recommended.

Before you go

Kick Butt Coffee, in Suite 725 at 5775 Airport Blvd., has been owned and run since 2008 by Thomas R. Gohring. As a coffee shop it is open from 6am to 6:30pm on weekdays, 7am to 4pm on Saturday and 8am to 4pm on Sunday, and on show nights from 7pm to 2am. Its menus run from sandwiches, wraps, salads and pizza to a separate list of alcoholic drinks, and its Godfather Booth seats groups of 8 to 15, free for those spending $50 an hour.
